Strontium driers are presented as a second alternative for lead driers whose usage is significantly restricted. Strontium is a through drier which, unlike zirconium, has better pigment wetting properties thus avoids wrinkling. The fact that strontium driers do cause less yellowing with respect to zirconium counterparts makes them the most attractive for lead substitution.
