Polyurethane Catalysts

Quick Access

Ege Kimya offers various metal-based catalysts for use in the polyurethane industry. These catalysts are designed to be used in a wide range of applications such as coatings, adhesives, elastomers, high density foams, microcellular and rigid foam.

Bismuth and zinc-based catalysts are tin alternative, environmentally friendly catalysts that have a high gelling effect and are more selective on the urethane bond than tin-based catalysts.

EGECat® Potassium Oct 15 and EGECat® Potassium Ace 13 are solutions of potassium acetate and potassium octoate in diethylene glycol. Both catalysts, known as isocyanate trimerization catalysts, are used in a variety of rigid foam applications in the isocyanurate reaction.

Our standard products are listed below:

Products Metal Concentration(%) Solvent Application Recommended Dosage (%)
EGECat® Bismuth Oct 28 SF 28 Solvent Free Gelling catalyst 0,1 – 2,0
EGECat® Bismuth-S 16 Solvent Free Gelling catalyst 0,1 – 2,0
EGECat® Zinc-S 19 Solvent Free Crosslinker 0,1 – 2,0
EGECat® 8-S 16 Solvent Free Fast Curing 0,1 – 2,0
EGECat® Potassium Oct 15 15 DEG Isocyanate trimerization 0,1 – 2,0
EGECat® Potassium Ace 13 13 DEG Isocyanate trimerization 0,1 – 2,0

Ege Kimya has the potential to develop single or combined catalyst systems for performance profiles such as different pot-life and curing times desired by the customer.

Storage

It should be stored in cool and dry places below 30°C. Since it is a product that oxidizes easily, packages should not be open during storage. Shelf life is 60 months from the production date.
